ACCESS ALL AREAS AT OXEGEN 2011 WITH RTÉ 2FM

 

 

This year RTÉ 2fm's Oxegen 2011 coverage is bigger and better than ever before at the Punchestown festival! RTÉ 2fm will be providing close to 30 hours of live music. This will quite simply be the biggest live music radio experience in the country and for the first time ever there will be an integrated radio, web and digital TV production live from the festival.

 

RTÉ 2fm is the only station with full live music, the only one with full web coverage, the only one with a choice of listening, the only one with live on air coverage all weekend and the only one providing music to European radio. RTÉ 2fm does it to international standards, does it better and does it bigger!

 

It all kicks off with DJs Ruth Scott & Paddy McKenna on Friday 8 July who will be broadcasting live on site at Punchestown and getting the nation ready for what promises to be a music extravaganza. Over the course of the weekend DJs Jenny Huston, Dave Fanning, Dan Hegarty, Cormac Battle and Jenny Greene will be broadcasting live exclusive interviews and music from some of the top acts in the world.

 

And in a huge expansion of RTÉ 2fm's live Oxegen website, the dozens of video interviews, acoustic sessions and video blogs will be shared on RTE Ten, RTE.ie, 2fm's Youtube channel, and, for the first time on RTE TV via News Now, the new 24 hour rolling news channel. Live webcam streams will show the roadcaster live studio and around the site and media areas. As if all that wasn't enough, fans can listen back online to the live shows from the main stages for the seven days after the festival.

 

RTÉ 2fm will be sending all the live music to the 70 radio stations in the Eurosonic group of the European Broadcasting Union, and this year there is an RTÉ 2fm Stage, co-hosted with Hot Press magazine.

Ruth Scott & Paddy McKenna will launch RTÉ 2fm's epic Oxegen coverage 2011 and let listeners know what to expect to hear and see over the weekend.

7pm - 1am: DJs Jenny Greene, Cormac Battle & Dan Hegarty with live music and interviews

 

 

SATURDAY 9 JULY:

2pm - 4pm: Dave Fanning

Mr Fanning starts of the second day of Oxegen with live action and festival fun

4pm - 7pm: Ruth Scott and Paddy McKenna

Expect plenty of updates from Punchestown and live footage on the 2fm website and RTÉ Ten online.

7pm - 1am: DJs Jenny Greene, Cormac Battle, Jenny Huston & Dan Hegarty with live music and interviews

 

 

SUNDAY 10 JULY:

FANCY DRESS FRIDAY RETURNS TO OXEGEN!

 Oxegen's Fancy Dress Friday is back! Last year, fans got their fancy-dress-freak-on and sported some serious get-ups. We are daring you to out-do last year's motley crew by donning your favourite costume on Friday 9th July.

Which Oxegen Star do you think you could pull off? Fancy yourself as a bit of a Jessie J or Imelda May?  Or maybe you're more Slash or Liam Gallagher? The theme this year is 'Oxegen Artist Look Alikes', use artists like Slash or Beyoncé as inspiration and go for it! Dress, look and act like your favourite artist.

We want your help to turn Oxegen, on Friday 9th July, into the most colourful festival site EVER and in return you could be the first person in the world to possess a pair of VIP tickets for Oxegen 2012!

We'll search high and low, in every campsite and every nook and cranny on Friday 9th looking for the most creative costumes. Our photographer will be on hand to capture the super-star new you. The ten best costumes will be posted to our website after the festival, where Oxegen fans will be able to vote for the winner.

Be brave, be bold and become your inner rockstar, because we'll be looking for the funniest, most inspired, imaginatively attired festival-goers to give the coveted, 'Best Costume' title and tickets too!
