Welcome to the Undercurrents project - a blog, and 2XM and 2FM slots dedicated to new-to-air Irish music.  We especially welcome musicians who do not benefit from the backing of a major record label, or airtime on a national channel.  We are open to all music, regardless of how fringe, whether it's compositional, punk, folk, pop, electronic, rock or indeed anything else.      

Undercurrents is aired at 12 noon Fridays with a repeat Tuesdays at 9pm, and can be heard on DAB, at www.rte.ie/2xm or on NTL/Chorus Channel 944.  It is also aired on 2FM every third Sunday.  

So if you or someone you own would like to have music broadcast, simply email the track as attachment to undercurrents@rte.ie. It should be original work, broadcast quality and preferably five minutes or less.  Or post to the following address:
