So long January, you cold hearted month of misery! Hellooooo February! FINALLY!
The question of the day - do you pee in the shower?! Yes, you heard right - do you PEE in the shower? Because if you don't...then...you should. That's according to the Brazilian authorities who are currently encouraging those strapped for basic amenities such as water and food to start wee-ing while you wash (via www.beaut.ie) Well, not exactly...the plan is to use the shower as a loo with the wastewater from the shower in place of the GALLONS of water you waste when using the more conventional method of a toilet. Some of you were horrified to hear this - others, not so much. Ryan spoke to John who confessed to be a 'wee-er while he washes'. Many others agreed with John's way of 'multitasking'.
Ryan spoke to Jane who got in touch when she heard Marie talk on Monday's show about her son Peter who died from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Marie mentioned that she keeps her son's memory alive by 'talking' to him day to day - such as asking him to help her find a car park space when she's out and in a hurry. Well, it seems Marie's not the only one who has a car park angel - Jane's five year old daughter recently asked her if her grandfather (who died before she was born) had been a traffic warden - as Jane always asks him to help her find a parking spot!
Sonya Lennon is off to Downing Street next week! She spoke to Ryan about her involvement in the international charity Dress for Success which is a global not-for-profit initiative. They basically get a woman suited and booted for job interviews. It's designed for 'disadvantaged women' - that could be separated women, a woman who has been unemployed for a long time or even a mother going back to work after raising her children. Shops like Arnotts have given 20,000 euro towards the initiative. Samantha Cameron is a big supporter and she's holding a reception in Downing Street to celebrate 10 years of Dress for Success.
This morning we did something on the show that we hadn't done before - Ryan was joined in studio by Catherine McDonnell who says she's an accomplished medium. She has worked with the spiritual world since she was very young and she spoke to listeners on air today about their lost loved ones.
Catherine will be hosting an evening of mediumship in The Helix in DCU in Dublin on the 29th March.

Edel heard Emma talk to Ryan yesterday about closing down her shop. 4 years ago Edel opened a children's clothes shop in Ashbourne. The first year was good - there was a demand - but things haven't been great. December's budget was particularly tough - people's disposable income has disappeared. She has to let go three of her staff and sadly it looks like she will have to close her shop.
