Ryan was joined in studio this morning by Larry Kelly, a former Fianna Fail councillor who was a recent victim of blackmail. He spoke about politics and his struggle to clear his name.
Ciaran heard Emma's story about having to close down her clothing boutique on Tuesday. He's the owner of Des Byrne Tailoring and Alterations on Grafton Street and used to deal with Emma and her business. He's thankful that he's managing to keep his head above water with his business saying that nowadays people are repairing their clothes rather than replacing them.
Rhona Walsh is opening a brand new bakery next week - she's nervous after listening to all the businesses who have had to shut shop recently. But she's looking forward to her new venture - pop down to 'Cakes by Rhona & Other Delights' in Aughrim co. Wicklow!
There was a great piece in the Irish Independent this morning about the risk you take when you eat 'out of date' food. According to Suzanne Campbell, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland says HALF of us eat food that have gone past the sell-by-date and that WE the consumer rely more on instinct than labelling to see if those rashers at the back of the fridge are worth eating!
Sheila Ann got in touch to say she saw a programme on Channel 4 some time ago about a guy who ate out of date food for a month. He had himself checked out by a doctor before he did and he had himself checked out after and he was grand...no effect on him!
Elena said that she would throw things after the sell by date but her dad would eat anything! He'd say it's never done him any harm.
