Ryan spoke to Brigid Coyle and Carmel O'Shea about their experiences at the (deafening!) One Direction concert in the O2 last night. Dave Fanning came on to admit that he too was at the concert with his daughter. There goes his credibility! Sounded like a great night!
13 year old actor Scott Graham spoke to Ryan about getting the news in his school principal's office yesterday that the Irish short film he starred in, 'Pentecost', has been nominated for an Oscar. Not that it fazed him at all...he went back to class and told no one! When he got home he celebrated with his parents by having a Chinese take-away and talking to friends and family on the phone which was hopping! Scott's unsure as to whether he'll be attending the Oscars in Hollywood next month but he's hoping.
After hearing all the Titanic stories on yesterday's show from Cobh, Deirdre O'Brien got in touch to say her granddad William O'Brien and his brother had tickets for the Titanic. They were gambling in a bar near the pier before the journey but her granddad lost his ticket in a card game. His brother Denis O'Brien died on the Titanic.
Ryan read out an email sent in by a listener who is finding it hard to make friends. Carmel offered some advice on how to socialise, saying even if you're outgoing and sociable, it's not easy.
