Tubridy Monday

Here's what happened on Today's show...

Ryan chatted to Oisin Kavanagh from Switzerland. Oisin has submitted a song he wrote and sings to the Swiss Eurovision song contest final for 2012. Oisin wants Irish people to vote for his song Rollercoaster. Oisin loves the Eurovision and his favourite song was Rock and Roll Kids. Here's the link to Oisin's song:www.oisinmusic.com

Ryan chatted to Bernadette about her eventful walk yesterday! Bernadette and her young daughter and a group of friends went for a walk in the mountains, despite the awful weather. Upset, wet and cold, but unable to turn back the group took shelter and were delighted to see the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team coming out of nowhere! The rescue team were marking out a trail for a charity walk and happened upon the distressed walkers. They gave them tea and biscuits and wrapped them up and accompanied them to their bus. Bernadette wanted to Thank all the team for their help.

Ryan read out an email from a concerned listener who was puzzled as to what the appropriate swimwear was to bring on a family holiday. On a previous visit to a pool her was informed he had to wear Speedo type shorts....are they suitable for men of any age???

Julie called in to tell Ryan she is heading on a family holiday to Puerto Rico for the midterm. Julie's husband used to wear Speedo's, but doesn't anymore. Julie says he certainly won't be wearing them on this holiday!

Brenda Power joined Ryan in studio and took us on a walk down memory lane to remind us of Presidential elections that turned dirty. Brenda and Ryan discussed the 1990 and 1997 elections.

New Zealand Rugby fan Tony Reilly chatted to Ryan about his joy at New Zealand's Rugby World Cup Victory. Tony watched the match alone and wasn't able to eat until it was all over. He was in floods of tears after the match.
