Every day we hear about it on the radio, in the papers, on the television... Anglo Irish Bank. Three little words that nobody knows much about. Whatever it all means, it has turned Ireland on it's head and the people are paying for it. So to try and get to grips with the chaos surrounding Anglo Irish Bank, Ryan asked listeners to call in and try to explain, in less than a minute, in Joe-Soap terms what it all means. Are we any the wiser? It's debatable but at least we tried.
He also talked to JJ McDonnell, the brother, and Damien O Brien, the best friend, of Ger McDonnell, the first Irish mountaineer to reach the K2 Summit. They tell of how Ger reached the top of the mountain and began his descent in the dark. After spotting three people in trouble, Ger tried to help but unfortunately died along with them.
Facing fears is a daunting task, one that no doubt leaves beads of cold sweat across your brow but today Ryan talked to Dave Sherry, a guy doing just that. Dave has a fear of heights, common enough but usually people avoid situations where they are facing their fears head on but today he decided to hop on the Dublin Wheel and see how he felt. He found it a little more than scary and quite shaky but he'll not let his fear beat him. Irene O Shea and Rita Mooney were also talking about their own fear of heights and they even afforded a little sympathy to Dave.
