April 2010 Archives

Saturday 24th April

Live surrounded by the Burning Bogs of the West Hector & Pat were in fine form on this weeks show. Tommy is still in a land far away and was on stage while the show was live so we missed him this week.

Pat has the boat named thanks to last weeks listeners 'The Bopping Bullock' and she will be launched later today in Killaloe. (hope to have a photo next week)

There was a farming theme in parts of this weeks show as a listener needed help getting the cow ready for the AI man and the lads played him just the tune. We found out the farmers car of choice is a Toyota Carina E.

Hector and Pat debated getting Killinaskully dubbed into Arabic as well as if Pat show get a Tattoo and where????

They help out a man trying to decide on the colour of his High-Vis Jacket and educated an 89 year old on the music of the Chemical Brothers it would be great from planting pansy's to.

One the happening new Irish Bands who in Hector's words 'are hungry, young and have a great sound' - Juliet's Rescue preformed live in studio

Juliet's Rescue live.JPG They preformed 2 tracks 'Right But Not Right Now' and 'Make Yourself a Hero'

Saturday 17th April

After his fantastic job last week Pat Shortt was back co-presenting with Hector this Saturday. So Hector thought it was time to find out more about him from what he did after school to what he had for breakfast (really)

Pat needed the nation's help to name his Currach which he took out in the water for the first time during the week.  Sara & Colin asked for a first dance song and Pat suggested some type of Rodeo wedding song that supposedly they all go for now!!

We said a G 'Day Mate to Tommy and heard how his week was Down Under.

The nation told us what they were up on this sunny Saturday from eating Calippo's to hanging out the washing to mucking out the sheds. We heard from those stuck all over the world with the volcanic ash and saw had the return of 'What Class of a Vhehicle is this?'

'The Chapters' performed live in studio

The Chapters 1.JPG

For more from them check out them out on their website or get a copy of their new album Perfect Stranger
