Listen to Echogram RTÉ Cork Studio Session

Recorded Cork Studio Fr Matthew St: 11/04/2011

RTÉ Studio 8 Sessions

Echogram are:

Kilian Pettit - vocals/acoustic guitar/programming
Cian MacSweeny - guitar / back vox
Ronan McGrath - bass guitar / bass synth
Conor McSweeny - djembe drum / percussion

Echogram is the band of Cork muso, Killian Pettit. The Cork 4-piece, have gone to extremes recently... The story of their debut album began at Cypress Hill's Temple Studios, what was once Fleetwood Mac's legendary Cornerstone Studios, with Snoop Dogg's crew hollering their approval from the control room and ends back in rural Ireland in the cottage / studio owned by producer Ciaran O'Shea (ex-Cyclefly).
The finished album tracks were sent back to Sean Beavan (Marilyn Manson, NIN, No Doubt) to mix at his Hollywood Hills studio while Marilyn Manson's contorted portrait of Sean's dog presided over the process.. Fans include Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, Robert Smith, Alan Moulder and James Brown (Placebo, NIN, Foos). Echogram songs have featured on the MySpace online drama "FREAK", and recent licensing deals with the MTV and E! Networks have used  tracks on their TV shows.

Listen to General Fiasco Studio 8 Session

Recorded:14/06/2010

RTÉ Studio 8 Sessions

General Fiasco are:

Owen Strathern - Bass / Lead Vocals
Enda Strathern - Guitar / Vocals
Stephen Leacock - Drums

General Fiasco are a feisty Northern Irish trio who released their debut album 'Buildings' in March 2010  By the age of eighteen Owen had been playing bass with another act for a few years, occasionally gigging at their home town Magherafelt's sole rock bar with his younger brother Enda on guitar.  Owen put off university in 2006 and dedicated a year to becoming a rock star, writing songs with enough weight and velocity to power their way out of Magherafelt's cultural black hole. He roped in his brother and schoolmate Stephen and in 2007 General Fiasco moved to Belfast. Their first gig as a three-piece was at Glasgowbury 2007, Northern Ireland's biggest unsigned music festival. A demo in the summer of 2008 landed them a spot on the BBC Introducing Stage at that year's Reading & Leeds festival. Second single 'Something Sometime' became Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record In The World'. They signed to Infectious that Summer.

They've played the BBC Electric Proms; supported Snow Patrol, Fighting with Wire, The Pigeon Detectives, The Answer and The Enemy amongst others; and embarked on their own headline tours across Europe and the US.

Recorded: 02/03/2010

RTÉ Studio 8 Sessions

Power of Dreams are:

Craig Walker - Guitars / vox
Mick Lennox - bass
Ian Olney - Guitar / Vox

Power of Dreams were formed in Dublin in 1989 by songwriter Craig Walker. The band's debut ep "A Little Piece of God" was voted Single of The Week in UK music weeklies Melody Maker and Sounds, which led to them signing to Polydor.

Their first album, "Immigrants, Emigrants and Me", received glowing reviews. Power of Dreams embarked on a global tour, taking in more than 20 countries in the space of a year, including Japan and the US.  Over the next four years, they released a further three albums and continued to play shows worldwide, including four return visits to Japan. However, commercial success never quite matched the level of critical acclaim achieved and so the four members went their separate ways in 1995.

2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of that landmark debut album "Immigrants, Emigrants and Me" and to mark the occasion, the band reformed for a series of live shows and this very special live show for Dan- the first  time the band played together in public in 14 years.

Formed in 1981, Paranoid Visions quickly allied themselves to the anarcho punk fraternity of the second wave of punk rock in the early 80's. Heavily influenced by the crass ethic of diy music, the band fomed their own F.O.A.D label and licenced their records to all the madmen records, home of the Mob, Thatcher on Acid, Blyth Power and the Astronauts. Paranoid Visons played gigs and toured with the likes of Poison Girls, DIRT, Blyth Power, the Subhumans and the Instigators. Throughout the 90's Paranoid Visions became the biggest punk band Ireland had ever produced, and they continued on producing some of the most uncompromising sounds ever to come from this little island .. Late in 2005, their xmas album "bollox to Xmas". a live album called "live in stab city" followed in 2006. A new album, "40 shades of gangreen" was released in March 2007. 2008 was a busy year with the release of "the treasure from the wasteland e.p" (12", CD and download), which charted at number 4 in tn Irish download charts.
