Nominees and All Star Line Up for 2010 announced!
The Meteor Ireland Music Awards 2010 were launched today with the announcement of this year's nominees and live performances. Recognised worldwide as Ireland's definitive music awards it will celebrate its ten year anniversary this year. The event will be held at the RDS Dublin Friday 19th February 2010 in what promises to be the music highlight of the year.
The star-studded music spectacular will be presented by international TV presenter Ireland's Amanda Byram. Performing on the night to celebrate the ten year anniversary will be the best in music, both home grown and international including Westlife, Snow Patrol, The Script, Florence and the Machine, Paulo Nutini, The Coronas, Pixie Lott and many more to be announced.
The most anticipated television event in the Irish music calendar will be aired by RTE on Sunday 21st February 2010 on RTE 2 at 9pm.
As with previous years Irish music fans will be able to decide the winners of nine major categories:
- Best National D.J.
- Best Regional D.J.
- Best Irish Band
- Best Irish Male
- Best Irish Female
- Best Irish Pop Act
- Best Irish Album
- Best Irish Live Performance
- Most Promising New Artist for 2010
A further nine awards will be decided by votes cast by representatives of the Irish music industry with a total of eighteen awards presented on the night.
Public voting will be live from today allowing the public to decide who will be awarded the accolade of a Meteor Ireland Music Award. Voting for Most Promising New Artist for 2010 will be live from 15th January. Voting is open to all Irish mobile networks and will be charged standard text rates. Online voting will be available on www.meteor.ie and everyone who votes will be automatically entered into a competition to win tickets to the 2010 Meteor Ireland Music Awards.

A limited number of tickets priced €40 (including booking fee) go on sale tomorrow Friday 8th January at 9am from Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide. This is strictly an over 16 year's event.
