The Vaccines and other SXSW stuff

sxsw2011logo.jpg

So another years SXSW (South by SouthWest....duh!) festival has rolled around. The Irish came, saw, played, drank and impressed once again.

If you missed any of the great interviews we did on the show, fear not - as we've compiled a little post-SXSW taster of what you missed.

Jenny Huston @ SXSW 2011

The Vaccines play a sold out show in The Academy in Dublin on 25th March. The Stiff Kitten in Belfast on the 26th March and Roisin Dubh in Galway on 27th March.

The Vaccines are also confirmed for Oxegen 2011 in July.

London buzz-band The Vaccines started a music industry frenzy before Christmas with single 'Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)'. 'Post Break-up Sex' came next folowoed by their debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? March 11th.  The infectious 'If You Wanna' came out on Friday March 18th.

The band have just completed their debut U.S. tour which included sold-out shows at New York's Bowery Ballroom on January 20th, where they met Debbie Harry who came to the gig, and Spaceland in L.A. which was attended by actors Jake Gyllenhall and Garrett Hedlund. They have just returned from SXSW

The Vaccines are: Arni Arnason (bass), Freddie Cowan (guitar / vocals), Pete Robertson (drums) & Justin Young (vocals / guitar).
