This wild windy and wet morning was a suitable setting for the spooky goings on, on this mornings show. From Hector hearing a scratching noise outside his window last night only to discover it was the watering can scraping along the tarmac to further investigations into the spooky picture Ronan told us about in the Galway Independent yesterday. On How's your Country This Morning we went straight to the horses mouth as we spoke to photographer Johnathan Curran who took the photo below at about 5 or 6pm on an overcast March evening in 2009 down by the Long Walk in Galway. He told us was standing at St. Mary's Church at the Claddagh and was taking 3 sets of 13 photos in a practice shot to make 1 panoramic shot from Jury's to the Claddagh Hall.
It wasn't until he developed the photos and was trying to stitch them together to create the shout that he noticed the woman in the photo. Some say she looks like a num other say she looks like 1 of the old Claddagh Women wearing a Galway Shawl but one thing is for sure she was not in the shot when Johnathan took it and hasn't been in any shot he took in that area since....
Here is the photo in question which he assures us is not altered... What do you think???

On Put Your Town On The Map our Champ Dave O'Flynn's fact on Ballymacoda today was that nearby Cable Island has the ruins of a light house as in the 1940's a steam paddle boat called 'Sirius' ran aground on rocks near Ballycotton so the Lighthouse was moved there and left go to ruin on Cable island.. Out Challenger Bernard Reilly didn't have as accurate a fact but Broadford is a town on the Kildare/ Meath Border and must been only village not hit by the boom... Hector wanted more info than that & managed to get out of him the Flanagan's is the local pub...
Down to the business at hand and our Champ Dave was left running round in circles as he could not name 5 things that are round... So the title & 6 months Netflix subscription goes to Broadford and lets hope Bernard has a few more factual facts for us tomorrow..
