Broadcasting from the mothership this morning, Hector described it a bit like someone who was given the keys of a house that he'd never been in before, or asked to put someone else's car in reverse.. it was strange but he got on with it!
On How's the Country this Morning, Hector spoke to Val Deasy and her not quite undying love of Elvis- she has been a big fan since she was a child and now she's taken it to another level because she wants an Elvis themed funeral! She has made a will stating her wishes with her sister Audrey as the executor of the will, and she has a playlist made and she wants Elvis's If I can Dream as her mortal remains make their final journey - and for the hoolie/wake after,if she had have the money, she'd have a X Factor style laser show! And Hector let her know that he knows where she could get a good smoke machine! Needless to say we had to invite her to the One Night Only Elvis Extravaganza at the Olympia on the 9th March!
Shane O'Neill from Fossagh in Co. Kerry took on the champion from Tuam, Mary O'Donnell in Put Your town on the map.. but failed to steal the title from her- and the tickets to One Night Only at the Olympia as well as a Phillips iPod Alarm Clock. Shane told Hector the former GAA president and EU member of parliament Sean Kelly is resident in Fossagh. But this fact was no match for Mary's tidbit of knowledge about Tuam, that the residents of Tuam are multi-lingual- speaking Sham language and Bog Language. To illustrate, Mary spoke the Bog language to Hector, which he understood perfectly because of his Sham genetics.KHL Shane - but it's Joy, not Goy!
Showbiz Steve Kemble from Texas was once again fabulous this morning, and told us about the inside story of what happened in the death of Whitney Heuston. Steve himself had met Whitney on the red carpet many times and said she was so personable and polite. He also filled us in on the night and the Grammys and Adele's amazing success!
Karen Larke once again triumphed on Class Act, defeating 12 year old Alex in Wesport and winning another 200 euro Smyth's voucher and her name is once again in the draw for a super Sun holiday in Portaventura, which takes place tomorrow!
KHL to Edel Stevens in Roscommon who won tickets to one of the concerts of the summer - Madonna in the Aviva Stadium on 24th July.
