Hey it's Friday and what a better way to celebrate the end of the week but with random acts of kindness, some Fenian spirit and an Irish Barista Champion!
Beginning as always, Hector chatted to Ryan Garcia from Chicago for a bit of How's the Country This Morning. Ryan is doing a random act of kindness everyday this year and because it's a leap year, that's 366 acts of random kindness! We think it's great to see some positivity and think everyone should follow his example, whether it's picking up a hitcher or helping someone at the side of the road we need to keep the positivity flowing in this country! For more on gorgeous, much fancier, cups of coffee, fantastic food and delicious cocktails head to the Citywest Convention Centre for Food & Beverages live Wednesday 1st February from 10am-5pm where the cream of Irish talent in the foodservice and hospitality industry will be hoping to win some hotly contested competitions.
Barry, Robert Kearn's brother, continues his stint as Class Act champion, today defeating Sean Harty to win a fantastic Ballymaloe Hamper and, of course, the opportunity to come back on Monday to defend his title!
Big congratulations to Ray Carey from Bangor Erris in Co. Mayo who was the overall winner of a fantastic holiday to the value of €2000 and was our Friday qualifier of a year's free car insurance to the value of €800 all thanks to AA Insurance!! Well done to everyone who took part and KHL Ray!!
And finally Evelyn was in studio with us in Galway today, and delivered her Word of the Day, in person, which was: Precarious, which means unstable or insecure!
KHL for the weekend!
