HONNINGBARNA LIVE AT EUROSONIC 2012 IN GRONINGEN - THURS, FEB 23

Honningbarna Eurosonic.jpg

Norwegians Honningbarna were one the surprise hits of Eurosonic 2012, and in a really sad turn the band announced that the drummer, Anders Askildsen Eikas (20) died in a car crash on January 31.
Thumbnail image for honningbarna.jpg
Honningbarna means honey children and they come from Kristiansand. It's post punk with a cello playing jacket and tie wearing demented lead singer combined with songs about hypocrisy, cowardly state leaders and the deception and lies by the rich and powerful. The six of them are only together two years, with their debut album, La Alarmane Ga', earning this review from "Norway's biggest newspaper", "This is punkrock the way it should be played, but never has been in Norway. About time".  Prolific bloggers Jim Carroll and Nialler 9 not to mention Dan and many other reviewers reckoned they were one of the best acts at this year's event.
,
Recorded for the Eurosonic Partnership of the EBU by combined recording from VRT (Belgium), SR (Denmark), BBC (UK), WDR (Germany) and NPB (Holland).

The band are: Dara Kiely (Vocals), Alan Duggan (Guitar), Daniel Fox (Bass), Adam Faulkner (Drums). And yes, we noticed it too, no girls...
