BITCHES WITH WOLVES IN THE 2FM SESSION - TUESDAY, NOV 1
Dublin electro pop trio fronted by star in the making, James O'Neill, are the hottest thing in Irish "pop" at the moment. Strutting out of a gutter in London's epicenter of cool - Shoreditch - one morning, Bitches With Wolves found themselves committed to a performance at a club a few days later.
A con to a club promoter, Bitches With Wolves was born with nothing more than an eye set firmly on the stars, a dazzling wardrobe, a gig date and 'You Can't Piss To This' as a song title. With necessity being the mother of creation, a hat-trick of songs were hastily put together and Bitches With Wolves' debut performance left the pack howling for more. This summer they performed at a slew of festivals as well as finishing work on their debut release, due soon.
Augmented by two extra singers for this session, their almost nu-romantic synth-dance sounds are more than a Dep Mode throwback, but genuinely danceable hook-filled great pop tunes.
DAITHI IN THE FIVE-TRACK SHUFFLE - WED, NOV 2
Galway based Daithi (O DronaI) uses loopstations, kaoss Pads, synthesizers, effects pedals and drum machines to create a unique and exceptional sound all centered around one instrument: the Fiddle. Some people call it post trad, others say it's Indie traditional electro math rock looped with a twist, whatever the genre the end result is energetic, loud and a damn good time.
Tonight, Dan plays that tracks that Daithi selected for the Five-Track Shuffle.

LYKKE LI LIVE AT THE ELECTRIC PICNIC 11 - THURS, NOV 3
Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson , to give Lykke Li her full name, is the ultimate mysterious slightly icy Swedish singer-songwriter. Bjorn Yttling, of Peter, Bjorn and John, produced her first album, Royksopp recorded with her, she wrote Possibility for the Twilight New Moon film, she's one of the official faces of the Levi's Curve ID Collection, and even had a song covered in Glee.. And her Electric Picnic set this year was one of the talking points of the weekend.
