HOW TO BURN CALORIES
If you're someone who hates going to the gym and even getting up off your armchair proves somewhat of a problem well we've found the perfect way for you use up those excess calories. You can burn 90 calories an hour without raising a finger (well almost).
According to today's Daily Mail newspaper, sitting in your armchair doing a crossword puzzle or a Sudoku puzzle for about an hour burns more calories that are contained in many biscuits.

Apparently it works like this - our brains need 0.1 calories every minute simply to survive but when we do something challenging like a Sudoku exercise, we can burn through 1.5 calories per minute.
But before you throw away those runners and cancel your gym membership, it is not possible to think yourself slimmer because although the brain uses energy, it does not use fat. It gets its energy from glucose supplies which arise in the body when sugars are broken down. Unfortunately fat molecules cannot be broken down into glucose.
YOUR DRAGONS' DEN IDEAS
All this week we've been asking you to send us your ideas for Dragons' Den (in an ideal world). Each day we've picked a winning text to go forward to our end of week prize draw where you could win a Christmas Party for you and 9 of your friends/family/colleagues thanks to the Radisson Blu Hotel in Galway. The winning text also receives 50 euro to go towards their idea (ahem).

THE LATE LATE TOY SHOW

We're getting very excited at this stage because The Late Late Toy Show is only days away AND it's Ryan Tubridy's first year hosting the show AND we have one of our listeners Paul Murphy aged 5 from Gorey in Wexford on it AND... we're getting a sneak peak at the set and all the toys!!!!
Yes, tune into us this Friday and we'll be reporting back (very quietly) as to how it all looks on the morning of the big day. We'll be helping to build up the excitement as we count down the hours. The Colm & Jim Jim Breakfast Show is the only place on Friday morning where you can find out the inside track on this year's Toy Show so don't miss it!
