David McSavage.jpg

Comedian David McSavage popped into studio this morning for a quick visit to tell us all about his TV show The Savage Eye which is on RTE 2 tonight at 10.30pm, and just to have a bit of a laugh and a chat.

You can hear the interview by clicking the Play button below.

THE MUPPETS SING QUEEN

It's one of the most iconic videos of all time and one of the most difficult songs to sing but nothing is impossible for The Muppets and this YouTube clip of them singing Bohemian Rhapsody is doing the rounds online at the moment. It was put together to mark the 18th anniversary of Freddie Mercury's death on November 24th and has already had over a million views on YouTube.

Now here's your chance to take a look at it yourself. We love it!!!

YOUR NEW BUSINESSES

Grand Opening.jpg

Every so often on the show, in this time of recession, we like to give YOUR new businesses a fighting chance by giving you a free plug. Either we read your texts or you come on and tell us about your fledging enterprise and all our other listeners get to hear about it.

So here is a selection of today's texts that were sent in to us. And it warms our hearts to know that despite the current climate, many of you are still trying your best to make a good living and be entreprenurial. We salute you.

AMANDA'S MOVIE MINUTE

This week Amanda took a look at the new scary movie everyone is talking about Paranormal Activity and gave it the thumbs up. She's not easily scared and although she said the film itself isn't that frightning, it's the anticipation and eerie build up that stays with you long afterwards - the night after Amanda watched it, she found herself getting the heebie jeebies when she went to the bathoom and the light was on - yeah, it's that unsettling it can make a bathroom light freak you out.

Check out the trailer here but Amanda thinks you're much better off going into this cold. The trailer will ruin all the best scares in the movie and take away from the anticipation. You have been warned...

Today we had an extra special First Time Friday slot as twins Alex and Holly Butler from Dublin went to Liverpool for us to review Disney on Ice's Princess Wishes show which is coming to CityWest on Stephen's Day. OUR RECOMMENDS

This week we had no Jim-Jim who is off sick but Colm and Jacqui had plenty to talk about.

Jacqui kicked it off by recommending a TV Marathon this coming Friday night. She says start with The Late Late Toy Show and then after that one of her favourite films of all time is on, Beaches, which stars Bette Midler. Colm remained uncovinced but Lindy and Amanda were nodding in agreement with Jacqui outside the window of the studio - definitely a recommend for the girls.

Beaches_Poster.jpg

Colm then recommended buying books as presents for Christmas. He points out that books seem to be cheaper than ever, that stores are always knocking down the prices, doing 3 for 2 deals and that you can't get a better present for a child than the gift of reading.

How To Burn Calories Your Dragons' Den ideas, PJ & the Toy Show

HOW TO BURN CALORIES

If you're someone who hates going to the gym and even getting up off your armchair proves somewhat of a problem well we've found the perfect way for you use up those excess calories. You can burn 90 calories an hour without raising a finger (well almost).

According to today's Daily Mail newspaper, sitting in your armchair doing a crossword puzzle or a Sudoku puzzle for about an hour burns more calories that are contained in many biscuits.

crossword.jpg

Apparently it works like this - our brains need 0.1 calories every minute simply to survive but when we do something challenging like a Sudoku exercise, we can burn through 1.5 calories per minute.

But before you throw away those runners and cancel your gym membership, it is not possible to think yourself slimmer because although the brain uses energy, it does not use fat. It gets its energy from glucose supplies which arise in the body when sugars are broken down. Unfortunately fat molecules cannot be broken down into glucose.

YOUR DRAGONS' DEN IDEAS

All this week we've been asking you to send us your ideas for Dragons' Den (in an ideal world). Each day we've picked a winning text to go forward to our end of week prize draw where you could win a Christmas Party for you and 9 of your friends/family/colleagues thanks to the Radisson Blu Hotel in Galway. The winning text also receives 50 euro to go towards their idea (ahem).

Radisson Galway.jpg

Here are some of our favourite texts we got in to the show today...

Dear Dragons my idea is soundproof  underwear - trade name 'Silence is Golden'- Gerry Brett

Zip lock bag for cereal.when u open box of cereal especially large box, just hav 2 zip it and stop it frm spillin everywhere.noreen ,ardagh, limerick.

Microchip evry newborn child. Easy 2 locate if lost r abducted.  Lar mc mahon

I would invent a football with thermosensitive sensors that would change colour when you touch it,so u would clearly know when the ball has been handled. Edel Bonner, Donegal

I think they should invent a christmas wreath that spells out GO AWAY! In lights because i am sick of christmas carolers! They do my head in!! From ross in finglas

Hi guys.. I would invent a device which picks up on when your child is about to say something embarrassing to a complete stranger.. It would give off a little noise to distract them from saying what they were about to say..

My hubby would love to b able to pause live radio like sky+ as he is a courier and misses interesting stories r Gud songs when hoppin in and out of the van doin deliveries. Sharon in dublin.

Hydraulic elevator soles for shoes. Great for walking through floods or when you want to look taller. Eileen.

PJ GALLAGHER

THE LATE LATE TOY SHOW

Toy Show.jpg

We're getting very excited at this stage because The Late Late Toy Show is only days away AND it's Ryan Tubridy's first year hosting the show AND we have one of our listeners Paul Murphy aged 5 from Gorey in Wexford on it AND... we're getting a sneak peak at the set and all the toys!!!!

Yes, tune into us this Friday and we'll be reporting back (very quietly) as to how it all looks on the morning of the big day. We'll be helping to build up the excitement as we count down the hours. The Colm & Jim Jim Breakfast Show is the only place on Friday morning where you can find out the inside track on this year's Toy Show so don't miss it!

Bill Bailey in studio & our Toy Show winner

****DON'T FORGET**** if you miss any of the show during the week you can catch up on all the best bits on The Best of Colm & Jim Jim every Saturday morning on 2fm from 9am.

Well we're back from Paris and despite our disappointment over the result and that infamous hand ball incident, we had a brilliant time but it was back to business as usual on the show this morning and what a show it turned out to be.

BILL BAILEY IN STUDIO

The wonderful and brilliant English stand up comedian Bill Bailey is in Dublin this weekend for a gig at the O2. We're massive fans of him on the show and you can imagine how excited we were when we discovered in Charles de Gaulle Airport yesterday that he would be on the show this morning.

bill bailey.jpg

Although Bill is primarily seen as a stand-up, he's also well known for his appearances on Have I Got News for You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI and Black Books.

Below you can hear a podcast of the interview.

LATE LATE TOY SHOW WINNER

This week we've had kids auditioning every single day for the last remaining place on next week's Late Late Toy Show.

Well all the auditionees recordings were sent to the big fancy producers of the Late Late Show and after much deliberation they finally came to a decision as to which kid deserved to feature on the show next week, Ryan Tubridy's first Toy Show as the Late Late host.

Toy Show.jpg

This morning Tubbers himself turned up in the studio to announce the winner - five year old Paul Murphy from Gorey in Co Wexford.

Take a listen to how Paul reacted to the news in the Podcast below.

We're Off To Paris - Come On You Boys In Green

We're rushing out the door as we write this, but the show is heading to Paris today to broadcast from La Trapmobile in the heart of the French capital tomorrow (Wednesday) morning and Thursday morning, with thanks to Boylesports

Join us tomorrow morning as we get the ball rolling on the biggest day in years for Irish soccer. We'll be chatting to the likes of Kevin Moran, Bill O'Herlihy and George Hamilton as well as hearing what the fans have to say on the streets of Paris and plenty of celebrity names will also be sending their best wishes to the Irish team.

Billo.jpg

And if you know anyone who's in Paris, let them know we have a few free breakfasts going outside the wonderful O'Sullivan's Pub. But be prepared to Battle for your Breakfast.

osullivans.jpg

With plenty of Irish football songs, loads more great music, and all the usual bits and pieces it's going to be a crazy but very enjoyable show from the streets of Paris. So make sure you tune in!

RONAN CALLS IN

Ronan Keating.jpg

The lovely Ronan Keating, a great friend of the show, popped by to say hi and talk about his new album and upcoming tour. He also spoke of his loss at the death of Stephen Gately and gave details of Boyzone's new album out next year.

Your can hear the interview by clicking play below

SEAL OF APPROVAL

This week's Seal of Approval is from Paulo Nutini. It's called Pencil Full of Lead and we LOVE it! Check out the video for it below which is amazing too.

X-FACTOR PREDICTIONS

Every week thanks to Boylesports, we've been putting on charity bets on the X-Factor. This week, both Colm and Jim didn't fare so well as neither predicted the exit of Jamie "Affro" Archer.

So it's another week and another round of predictions. And it seems this week the lads both agree on who they think will be eliminated this coming weekend. Colm and Jim-Jim both feel that Lloyd is on his last legs and will leave the competition next Sunday. Both lads have 100 euro riding on it for their respective charities, the Meningitis Research Foundation and Crumlin Children's Hospital.

WHO ARE YOU KIDDING

Who Are You Kidding logo.jpg

There's a special kids TV show being recorded next month and will air on Christmas Day on RTE 2. It's called Who Are You Kidding and is being recorded at The Helix on Tuesday Dec 8th.

It's a family friendly game show in which adults compete to entertain the audience in order to win a prize for the child who nominated them. RTE are looking for children between the ages of 8 and 12 to participate. You can find the application form at  http://www.rte.ie/tv/theden/ice/whoareyoukidding.html

2012 PRIZE WINNER

All this week we've been giving listeners the chance of qualifying for a draw for the most amazing prize - a holiday that takes you to 12 different cities in 20 days. Thanks to Sony Pictures, who are celebrating the release of 2012 in cinemas across the country today, we had this brilliant once in a lifetime prize to giveaway.

So this morning we had the draw and our winner was Lesea Long from Dublin so congratulations to her.

And according to Amanda who saw 2012 last week, it's well worth checking out. She describes it as the "disaster movie to beat all disaster movies" and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She says you shouldn't take it too seriously because it doesn't take itself too seriously but it's a rollercoaster ride of non-stop action from start to finish, the CGI effects are actually very realistic and stunning and despite it being a whopping 2 hours 38 mins long, it just flies by. It's the kind of film that cinema was made for and a must-see on the big screen.

 Here's the trailer.

PORN ACTRESS SERENADES DOMENECH

Domenech.jpg

This morning Amanda came across a song from a French singer and former porn actress Catherine Ringer, dedicated to the one and only Raymond Domenech, the infamous manager of the French football team. It's called Je Kiffre Raymond which means I Fancy Raymond.

Now not surprisingly, it's in French, but contains such lines as "if he attacked my penalty areas, I would be without defenders" (we're hoping it might have lost something in translation). It also describes Domenech as "a bloody handsome guy" and "classy".

Why not check it out for yourself below, but be warned, there's plenty of heavy breathing involved.

RONAN KEATING ON MONDAY'S SHOW

Ronan.jpg

Ronan Keating, a big friend of the show, will be in the studio talking to us on Monday. This is the first time we've seen him since the tragic and untimely death of his friend and fellow Boyzone member Stephen Gately. But we'll also be chatting to him about his new album and tour, and Boyzone's new album which is due out next year.

Don't miss it!

The studio is packed full of fun toys, that are reviewed by talented youngsters who've gone through the gruelling audition process! They've been tested and proved their worth....and so can YOU!

There is ONE.....yes ONE....very very sought after place remaining!

That's right...one of our young listeners will be filling that most wanted spot! We're looking for kids under 12 to come and audition with us live on air.

Tell us about yourself and your hobbies, showcase any party-ticks you have and generally impress us for your chance to take the coveted place on stage with Ryan Tubridy for his very first Late Late Toy Show on Friday November 27th.

On Friday, after hours of judges deliberating, Ryan will join us in studio to call the lucky talented youngster who will represent the Colm and Jim-Jim Breakfast Show on the Late Late Toy Show!

THURSDAY'S RECOMMENDS

It's that time of the week again.

This week, Jacqui recommended having a Green Party in your home Saturday night if you're not going to match. As part of the Going Green on November 14 campaign, she suggested getting green decorations, eating green food like green M&Ms or have a green curry. We want the whole country to go green on Saturday night, not just the people in Croke Park.

Colm recommended another campaign, Care to Drive, which has been set up by the Irish Cancer Society. It's a volunteer driving scheme, a solution in supporting patients with transport issues. For the last year or so, it's just been operating as a pilot scheme in Dublin but now, it's going to expand and become available nationwide so more people will be needed to get involved.

care_to_drive.gif

If you'd like to find out more about how you could help in your area, please contact the Irish Cancer Society on (01) 2310522 or email transport@irishcancer.ie

Finally, Jim-Jim recommended a number of comedy gigs that are coming up this weekend. Jason Manford is playing Vicar Street on Friday November 13th and Jason Byrne is playing the same venue on Saturday November 14th (with coverage on a big screen beforehand of Ireland v France).

AN INTERVIEW WITH SEAN HUGHES

Sean Hughes.jpgWe spoke with comedican Sean Hughes and played a quiz with him on this morning's show. You can check it all out by clicking on the player below for an extended version that didn't all go out on air.

TODAY'S QUIZ ANSWER

We've teamed up with Sony Pictures all this week for a brilliant competition. To celebrate the release of 2012 in cinemas this Friday, we're giving away a once in a lifetime prize - a 20 day trip to 12 cities!!!

2012movie.jpgTo be in with a chance of getting your name into the draw for this amazing prize, tune in to the Colm & Jim-Jim Breakfast Show each morning this week where you come on the phone and guess what city we're talking about. Each day we'll give you a clue and then you come on air and ask questions to find out more. You get a "No" answer, you're gone, get a "Yes" and you stay on the line to ask another.

If you were playing along this morning and missed the answer, it was Mumbai. We'll be playing again tomorrow morning so tune in to make sure you don't miss out.

COLM & JIM-JIM'S X-FACTOR PREDICTIONS

So far in our X-Factor bets with Boylesports, we've raised €400 for the Meningitis Research Foundation, thanks to Colm correctly predicting that Lucie would be the contestant to go home last weekend.

Lucie.jpgOnce again, this week, Boylesports have offered the lads a €100 bet each on who they think will go this Sunday night. Jim-Jim has predicted that Cheryl's youngest boy, Lloyd Daniels will leave the competition, while Colm thinks it's going to be the first exit for one of Simon's Over 25s - and it'll be Danyl Johnson.

TAKING THE ROADCASTER TO FRANCE

2fm Roadcaster.jpg

As we revealed on the show this morning, Colm, Jim-Jim and Amanda are taking the Roadcaster to France, well Paris to be precise, for the second-leg of the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualification play-off.

We're already Going Green on November 14 for the first leg and now we're hoping to continue that campaign in the French capital and turn gay Paris into a city of green, white and orange.

Thanks to Boylesports, ourselves and the wonderful team from RTE Radio 1's Sport At 7 will be broadcasting a number of programmes from Paris in and around the game.

We'll have more details later on in the week of where we'll be broadcasting from but if any of you are heading to Paris for the game and want to hook up with us for our broadcasts, you can get in touch by emailing jimjim@rte.ie

12 CITIES IN 20 DAYS

Sony Pictures presents John Cusack, Danny Glover and Woody Harrelson in 2012, the Disaster Movie to end all Disaster Movies....

John Cusack.jpg

Centuries ago the Maya left us their calendar with a clear end date and all that it implies! Since then, astrologists have discovered it, numerologists have found patterns that predict it and geologists say the earth is overdue for it. Epic proportions await the earth in 2012 and we should note, we were warned!

We're teaming up with Sony Pictures and launching this epic movie, in cinemas on Friday 13th November with a once in a lifetime prize. We're sending you on a 20 day trip to 12 cities!

Start off in Amsterdam then take the train into Brussels before moving on to Paris, Madrid follows and then Rome beckons, where you'll spend 2 days before moving on to Helsinki. Bangkok is the Asian gateway on this trip and then on to Singapore. Hong Kong is next and then Tokyo! Hooray for Hollywood and the movie capital of the world - Los Angeles. If LA does not have it then it is yet to be invented. Journey's end is Toronto before the flight home. 20 unforgettable days in 12 amazing cities!

To be in with a chance of getting your name into the draw for this amazing prize, tune in to the Colm & Jim-Jim Breakfast Show each morning this week where you come on the phone and guess what city we're talking about. Each day we'll give you a clue and then you come on air and ask questions to find out more. You get a "No" answer, you're gone, get a "Yes" and you stay on the line to ask another.

If you were playing along this morning and missed the answer, it was Baltimore. We'll be playing again tomorrow morning so tune in to make sure you don't miss out.

YOUR LOOKALIKE SUGGESTIONS

This morning on the show, Jim Jim declared that he thought the lovely Cheryl Cole and her husband Ashley actually resemble each other. Now Colm and Amanda thought he was a bit mad for suggesting that and they believe Cheryl looks a lot more like one of her X-Factor contestants, little Joe McElderry.

NINTENDO DSi COMPETITION

Each day we've got two Nintendo DSi consoles to give away and what we're doing is giving out clues to well known computer games or computer game characters and you have to guess what they are.

And in case you were playing along today and missed the answers, they were Star Wars (Lego) and Bowser from Super Mario.

AMANDA'S MOVIE MINUTE

This week Amanda and Colm both had the pleasure of attending the Irish Premier of Disney's A Christmas Carol in 3D. Unfortunately, both were left feeling a bit disappointed by the film. Although Amanda said the movie looked amazing, the motion capture animation was fantastic and Jim Carrey was marvelous in the main role of Scrooge,  she felt overall, it's almost too faithful to the original Dickens story in that it lacks real emotion, and good entertainment.

Both Amanda and Colm felt it was a bit boring or dull at times and certainly very dark and scary for younger children. However, the 3D really works, especially in the snowy scenes, and if you're going to go see it, try and catch in 3D if possible.

Here's the official trailer.

NEXT WEEK'S BIG GIVEAWAY

Next week on the show we've got an amazing competition with thanks to Sony Pictures. To celebrate the release of 2012 in cinemas on Friday the 13th, we'll be giving away a prize - 12 cities in 20 days... that's all we're saying for now. Tune in on Monday morning for full details of the prize and how to win

Next Friday, Amanda will be reviewing 2012 on the show, but to keep you going, here's a 5 minute clip from the movie.

WOW-EE BEYONCE

If you tuned into the show this morning, you might have heard some dead air at one stage. Complete silence. The reason for that was because ColmJim-Jim and Amanda were glued to a clip on YouTube of Beyonce's spectacular performance at the MTV European Music Awards last night and didn't realise the track playing on air had ended, they were so mesmerised by "Bouncy" herself.

If you've not heard about it or seen the pics in the papers yet, Ms Knowles was wearing a red corset and suspenders and looked AMAZING!!! Which is why there was dead air during the show and we'd all like to apologise for that. Ahem. But in our defence, here's the clip...

It's Thursday so that means one thing - our weekly Recommends.

Colm is a big fan of Disney shows and movies and he always brings his daughter to the Disney On Ice shows each year. He even admitted when his daughter is all grown up and he doesn't have the excuse of bringing her anymore, he'll still probably go anyway.

Jim-Jim recommended getting your hands on the brand new Killers CD/DVD release. It's Live From The Royal Albert Hall and it goes on sale from November 10th.

WHAT KIDS WANT FROM THEIR MAMMIES

We came across a fascinating article this morning in The Star newspaper. A website www.TheBabyWebsite.com commissioned a study of 3,000 children between the ages of  six and 15 to find out what kids really expect from their Mammy. And it turns out that kids really do prefer the simple things in life rather than having a Supermom.

Most important to kids is having a mother whose biggest priority is enjoying them with them and gives them lots of love and attention.

The Top 20 things the perfect Mammy does:

1. Enjoys spending time with the children - 75 per cent
2. Helps children with their homework - 73 per cent
3. Allows children to watch TV sometimes - 71 per cent
4. Is happy to play games - 69 per cent
5. Praises the children regularly - 66 per cent
6. Is there when the children hurt themselves - 65 per cent
7. Makes homemade cakes - 65 per cent
8. Gives lots of kisses and cuddles - 63 per cent
9. Tells the children when they are being good - 63 per cent
10. Irons clothes - 62 per cent
11. Allows children to help with the cooking - 60 per cent
12. Makes a packed lunch every day - 58 per cent
13. Takes the children to the park regularly - 54 per cent
14. Tucks the children in at night - 53 per cent
15. Comes running when the children call out for her - 51 per cent
16. Does all the washing up and drying up - 49 per cent
17. Reads the bedtime story - 43 per cent
18. Ferries children to classes and friend's houses - 43 per cent
19. Is able to let her hair down - 42 per cent
20. Enjoys getting dirty in the garden - 41 per cent

COLM MEETS MARTINE

Yesterday, the rather lovely Martine McCutcheon was hanging around the 2fm studios as she was on the Gerry Ryan Show so Colm took the opportunity to say hello and get his picture taken with the singer/actress who has now turned her hand to writing a novel. Isn't she just so cute?

Colm & Martine.jpg

BACKSTREET'S BACK (ALRIGHT)

backstreetboys.jpg

With just over a week to go until the Backstreet Boys play Dublin's O2, Lindy and Jacqui are getting very excited about going to the soundcheck and the prospect of meeting the guys (Amanda not so much, she was more of a NKOTB fan). This morning Jacqui (Ireland's number one Backstreet Boys fan) said she might even consider wearing a t-shirt that says Backstreet Are In Fact Back (that was Jim-Jim's idea).

But the reason why Jacqui was going ga ga over the Backstreet Boys is because all this week we're giving away Backstreet Boys albums each day and those winners are going into a draw on Friday to win the chance to go to the soundcheck and the gig, just like Lindy and Jacqui.

There's another chance to get your hands on an album tomorrow and Friday and in turn qualify for that draw so tune in to the show to hear the Backstreet Boys question you have to answer to be in with a shout.

Nintendo DSi Competition & Flirting with Disaster

Each day we've got two to give away and what we're doing is giving out clues to well known computer games and you have to guess what the games are.

In case you were playing along and missed the answers, today's games we were given out clues about were Up and Club Penguin. Don't forget to tune in again tomorrow for another chance to win!

FLIRTING WITH DISASTER

This morning we were having a chat on the show about an article in one of the papers that claims women are better drivers because 76% of all penalty points issued last year were handed out to men.

However, one of our listeners text in and suggested that there was a reason for this. The text read " Women dodge the points easier by using their female charm!" and then seconds later someone else texted in "They bat the eyelids when pulled over!"

Gardai.jpg

So that started a big debate on our text system about how much people (or particularly women) get away with stuff because they flirt with the gardai or because they just happen to be particularly pretty or handsome.

Now while this is something people talk about all the time, we couldn't believe how much it seems to happen and how much our listeners try to get away with it. Check out these texts we got on the subject today.

I'm a garda an i know maybe 20 gardai who have taken ladies numbers rather than give points. Talk about easy ladies. They will do anything to avoid points. Anything.

Got my husband off from getting points by crying to a guard

My mot's tax is out 2 years and she has been stoped a few times and never even got a fine

A ban garda give me a ticket now we're married

My fella got away with having no tax by flirting with a girl garda. Three times. Pity it doesnt work with the mortgage people.

My fella was pulled by a lady gaga guard and when she asked if he knew why she pulled him over he said "is it cos i good lookin". He got a tax fine! Prat!

Hi lads, got stopped driving in a bus lane with no tax. Little bit of 'friendliness' got off scot free. Dinner cost more than the fine but well worth it.

I'm a girl, i was chatting on my phone while driving my car round a big roundabout when i got the blue flashy lights and a cute guard pulled me over. I gave him a big huge story about how i was lost and was ringing for directions, he then directed me where i had to go,even though i knew already, and told me to be a good girl now and not do it again!

I was stopped in The bus lane and did a bit of flirting said "I never do anything  like this" he walked around to the front of my car and my tax was out I just smiled sheeply and he said "Go on Missy and don't let me see you in The bus lane again"

It didn't work for me guys! All the batting of my freshly mascara'd lashes didn't stop guard for doing me for putting on my make while driving:) never did it again though!! Mandy:)

I'm a Garda (female) and i think its endearing when guys try to flirt their way out of a situation as usually guys r so bad at flirting outside of a bar club situation that its so bad its funny they make ya laugh and ya let them off !!!!!

I was parked illegaly once I told the two female guards they were the best lookin guards i had seen and they gave me another hour

If your stopped by a guard and your a girl, cry or tell them you have your monthly and they get so embarrassed they let you go. Worked for me . Lorraine

I got caught without 8 months tax I cried and got away with it!! Went down the road and rang My guarda brother who told me to get off the bleeping phone while driving :)

I sang you're gorgeous to a lady gaga many years ago, she stopped me out side my house i was  locked drunk she let me go and the next morning i got into the car, she was waiting and done me for everything

I was caught speeding coming from shannon airport with my now wife, we had her wedding dress with us. Garda let me go, said you have enough bad news!

NINTENDO DSi COMPETITION

All this week on the Colm & Jim Jim Breakfast Show we're giving you the chance to win a Nintendo DSi along with either a Super Mario Bros game or Style Boutique. Each day we've got two to give away as we're helping Smyth's launch three new colours in the Nintendo DSi range, Red, Light Blue and Metallic Blue.

To enter you're going to have to tune into the show each morning and listen out for the clues we'll give where listeners have to guess the game and if you think you know the answer just ring 1850 715 922 to come on air and tell us what you think the answer is. If you're correct, you'll win the Nintendo DSi plus game, simple as that!

X-FACTOR UPDATE

As you're well aware if you're a regular listener, we've gone a bit X-Factor mad on the show. So the lovely kind people in Boylesports have made us an offer we can't refuse. They've given us 300 euro each to put on some X-Factor bets for the charities of our choice.

So to begin with Colm has put 100 euro on Joe to be the overall winner, 100 euro on Cheryl to be the winning judge and 100 euro on Lucie going out next Sunday.

Jim-Jim has gone with Danyl to be crowned X-Factor champ with Simon the winning judge and John and Edward to be elimated next Sunday.

While the bets for the eventual winning act and judge can't be changed, each week Boylesports will give Colm and Jim-Jim another 100 euro each to bet on that week's elimation.

Colm has selected The Meningitis Research Foundation as his chosen charity while Jim-Jim's winnings will go to Crumlin Children's Hospital.
